How to welcome Spring into your home

There is truly no better feeling than when the sun begins to peek through the clouds, the sky regains its colour, the evenings are lighter and daffodils are in bloom – what felt like the longest winter ever is finally over! Spring has such a bright, uplifting effect on us all, so imagine how much your home could be elevated if you emulate this in your interior design. While winter is the season of all things cosy, spring offers an opportunity to open up your space with some brighter tones and add freshness with seasonal decor. Here are five ways you can emphasise that spring has sprung into your home.

1. Create a spring tablescape

Festive tablescapes are super common around Winter, with many of us dressing our dining tables in pine branches, dried fruits, fairy lights and Christmas decorations. So, why not carry this tradition into the new season? Opting for pastel tableware and glassware, adding faux flower arrangements in a statement vase, selecting seasonally scented home fragrance pieces and decorating the table with Spring-themed decor are just some of the ways you can achieve this. Here are some products from Home Store Living that you could add to your Spring tablescape:

2. Switch up your wall art

Wall art is a great way to add colour and dimension to a space, but when you have the same artwork in a room for an extended period of time, it loses its impact to the point you sometimes forget it’s even there! Your home deserves to be treated like an art gallery, with frequent new exhibitions to keep things exciting. Therefore, replacing your wall art with something in spring colours or featuring seasonal images is an incredibly easy way to immediately bring springtime into your home.

3. Add a splash of colour

One major transition that occurs between Winter and Spring is that everything gets more colourful, so by swapping those cosy neutrals and darker tones with something more vibrant, you’ll make it clear that spring has sprung in your home too. Some like colourful furniture and decor more than others, so whether you choose to make a bold statement with a large piece like a sofa or rug, or opt for small colourful details such as coffee table books or cushions, even just a small dash of colour makes a world of difference in freshening up those moody winter tones.

4. Include a feature wallpaper

Feature walls can completely transform a room, injecting pattern and colour in a high dose. Opting for pastels and nature-themed designs will bring an uplifting wash of spring that radiates through the space. Your feature wallpaper will reach its full effect if your furniture and decor complement it, so if you’re struggling with knowing where to start with re-decorating, choose your wallpaper first and then use it to select the rest of your furniture.

5. Opt for lighter wood

While darker wood pieces create that dark academia aesthetic that is all the rage right now, it definitely has more of a wintery effect. Switching up your furniture for lighter shades of wood will
not only complement pastel Spring colours but will open up and brighten up the space just like the daylight streaming through your windows.
