How to style your console table

Console tables are a great way to fill a space with some decor and work well in various spaces – hallways, living rooms, and even bedrooms. However, a console table will only elevate a room if you go about it the right way; too much clutter and it will become an eyesore and, on the other hand, an empty surface will look a bit out of place. It can be challenging to know how to find a happy medium, so luckily for you, we’ve created a guide on how to perfectly style your console table.

1. Position it below a mirror

A console table will usually reach a height of around 75cm, leaving a fairly large section of wall space behind it. Your first thought may be to add some wall art to this space, but this can make the area overpowering when combined with the decor on your table. A great solution for this is to add a mirror above your console table instead; this will give the illusion of opening up and brightening the space to avoid this section of the room looking cluttered while adding a little something to jazz up that empty wall space. Here are some of the mirrors that we think would look beautiful when paired up with a console table:

2. Add a statement lamp

Lamps not only function to light up the space, but they also add height and texture. It will be one of the most striking pieces of decor on your console table, so choosing a statement design that
complements the table well will really pull the whole thing together. There’s something really classy about an elegant lamp and table pairing, so it’s worth looking past the functionality of
your lighting solution and opting for something super stylish.

3. Stack books and ornaments

Designer table books immediately add a luxury feel to any room, while ornaments inject some personality and sparkle, but you may not feel like you have enough room for both. However, have you tried stacking your ornaments on your books? Layering accessories like this helps to create an area of visual interest on your console table, while also keeping your arrangement neat and clutter-free. Here are some combos that we love to stack in our showroom:

4. Use a versatile vase

Flowers are a beautiful way to add freshness and natural detailing to your console table, but vases can also be used in a range of other ways. You can fill them with a large candle to amp
up the drama, or even display empty vases as ornaments in their own right – this looks great when you pair two different sizes for a layered effect. The versatility of vases means its super
easy to switch up your console table when you feel it’s in need of a refresh.

5. Select the perfect home fragrance

Home fragrance will extend your console table into a multisensory experience; you can choose the perfect scent to help create whatever theme you wish your space to have, and the flicker of a candle or the steam of a diffuser adds some tranquillity to the room. Beyond this, home fragrance comes in plenty of beautiful designs, adding to the decor of your table even further. We have so many options available, from Baobab to Maison Berger, to Sensum, so you’re bound to find that perfect fit for your console table.
